I've tried, I really have! - afterhours

With a little research, you would have learned that MS Word was effectively born on the Mac for widespread use. While it existed on an older OS years before, Word for the Mac was around in 1985, and by the time it was growing up (v3.0.1 -- the first version I used in grad school), it eclipsed MacWrite. Windows users wouldn't see it for another few years.

Much as Mac users like to mock MS, they made our machines business machines well before Windows was stable enough to be a 'real' OS. And we made MS a lot of money as Mac users of Microsoft applications.
