Why Pay $8.00 when you can do this for free? - Bern Shanfield_1
While videobox isn't perfect (I've found it has problems downloading more than two movies at a time) I've found it easily saves me $8 worth of time and clicks. Particularly so as I save my video's in iTunes and that is now automated. Sweet!IF you do much downloading, then streamlining your workflow by saving clicks starts to matter.
I've be doing the downloading from Safari's Activity Window routine for a few years (was very happy to find that) and this is much easer (and in my world well worth $8.) Of course this is a personal judgement call and everyone will make their own call.

Hey, man, thanks for the tip! This means I have a memento copy of my son in a video clip on national network news that would otherwise be un-save-able. I tried (and bought and like) Videobox, but it couldn't save the video this time. Thanks again!

Why would you review a product you've never used? Videobox allows you to easily download flash movies from almost any source and converts it to the format of your choice to view on an iPod. I've emailed the developer and he has always responded promptly and politely to my questions and suggestions. Videobox was well worth my $8.00.Friday, April 24 2009 @ 12:44 AM PDT
Maybe because this does more than just save the video - scott160
Videobox is more than just a downloader.Videobox uses ffmpeg and can convert to many other formats before saving. (really, who wants .flv format?)
Although there are other free options like you suggest, manually using activity monitor when you may have several tabs open isn't really a "clean or friendly" solution for the average end user, IMO.

VideoBox lets you easily download a flash movie to later playback on an iPod (for example). It does what it's designed to do very well. And it's only $8.00.Reply to This
