i'm actually pleased they disabled/removed auto genre detection. on my system it was buggy and although it worked, it would keep multiple "genredetect" processes open that would stop iTunes from quitting. one had to go to Activity Monitor and manually kill genredetect. hopefully they'll get it working properly again someday, but there may be limitations to what you can do with current versions of iTunes.
