Sure ... I'm running Leopard 10.5.6 on a MacBook Pro (Intel).

As a side note ... I typically download updates from the Apple Support area, restart my computer in Safe Boot mode, install the update, repair permissions afterwards, and then restart.

I don't do this for all updates ... but I tend to do it with the bigger ones.
