The fact that every *other* browser *allows* for "eating your cake and having it too," should make it abundantly clear that *not* allowing for blank new tabs *and* being able to have a configurable "home" page accessible --- when *wanted* --- is the "narrow" approach.
Your deciding that *everybody* should like things the way *you* do is "narrow" also, btw.
