Freeware RPP is just fine for some users - Felix01
My normal processor is the $299 DxO Optics Pro Elite but I've actually tried the freeware Raw Photo Processor (2/21/09) you so rudely disparaged. I wanted to see just what a freeware photo processor can actually do for someone on a limited budget or someone who doesn't take enough RAW format photos to warrant purchasing a processing package beyond what came with their camera. And I was quite surprised at RPP's considerable capabilities and the quality of its conversions. IMO, you've unfairly slammed it. A tremendous feature set for free plus some addition workflow capabilities for a modest (no amount is specified by the developer) donation.
Truly a labor of love on the developer's part. This is not inconsequential software by any means!

Consider downloading the freeware ... - howardm4
in another life, were you some sort of small ankle biting little dog? does anyone deserve to, you know, feed their family by writing software? Have you even ever tried 5% of the freeware you 'recommend' ? I love and use freeware all the time but many many times, shareware is actually, gasp! better. It's esp. poor form to come on here and stick your nose into every d@mn post w/ your helpful commentary. Anyone who has used RPP vs. Raw Developer knows there is no comparison.Reply to This
