Yes, same problem here too. Called Apple. They said to wait a few days this was perhaps the cause of a busy server.Monday, December 15 2008 @ 03:43 PM PST

Worked fine for me although it did take quite a while to complete the install on my iMac G5 PPC. I just waited -- everything came out fine..Monday, December 15 2008 @ 05:16 PM PST

mrbjclark -- I had the exact same issue as you. It hung at configuring installation, I had to do a hard restart but so far everything seems fine but I'm still at 10.5.5. Guess I'll wait and see what's what before I try again.Monday, December 15 2008 @ 06:14 PM PST

Did the same thing to me - hung on "configuring installation." After an hour, I force-restarted it and it rebooted normally. It still says 10.5.5. Go figure ....Monday, December 15 2008 @ 07:52 PM PST

After having this problem, I repaired permissions, then downloaded the ComboUpdater from Apple's website. It contains a package installer, which I ran and it worked fine. No problems encountered so far under 10.5.6.Monday, December 15 2008 @ 11:23 PM PST
10.5.6 update - gregraven
This same thing has happen to me on two different computers: A Mac Book Pro and a G5 -- both running 10.5.5. This is the first time I've had an issue with a software update, but this is a doozy.Reply to This
