If you want to rip newer titles, then theses freeware options usually will fail. Fairmount maybe will work, but it doesn't compare to RipIt or MTR 3.0. Those will knock out just about anything. Handbrake encodes for iPod/AppleTV, but won't let you reburn. the free MTR is unsupported and won't work with most newer titles. If you want it done right, RipIt is the most reliable and cheap way to go.
