Warning to potential buyers - GEllenburg

No offense, but I prefer to use single-use credit card numbers. It cuts down on both credit card fraud and it makes me feel safer purchasing products online. And, since I'm the consumer parting ways with my money, a vendor should at least acknowledge that fact.

With regards to PayPal, they are evil and the worst scourge on the Internet. They act like a bank but eschew all banking regulations. I have personally lost hundreds of dollars as a direct result of their mafia-like tactics. Forgive me for never wanting to give another one of my hard-earned dollars to them.

BrainJuice is right though, I was able to purchase the software — AFTER SIGNING UP FOR A FRAKKING PAYPAL ACCOUNT — and subsequently immediately cancelling it.

What I don't get however is many other software vendors use PayPal - but they have their account configured such that if I purchase from them I am not forced to open up an actual PayPal account. I don't have a problem giving PayPal my CC number (one time use only remember?) it's just the forced opening of an account. And why? To artificially inflate PayPal's own subscription numbers to make eBay look better to their investors? Get real.

The whole transaction involved several more extra steps that I shouldn't have been forced to go through.

However, I have to give BJ credit. They have been very responsive to my support and suggestions. I thought Blogo would solve a problem I was having with one of my Wordpress Blogs, but even with this latest beta I still can't use it, preferring to use the latest beta of ecto instead.
