The crash turned out to be from a lack of a limitation on the magnitude of the scale of notation. That is to say, Quotient was allowing a calculation out to a billion digits, if one wanted, which would overload the program's memory. Fixed and almost ready for release in a new version. (No users would have been affected without turning up the scale.) A couple of other potential crashes are fixed, as well.
