Why not ask instead of posting ignorant statements... - Flinx
Liking a product, does not allow you to be rude to others. If you have the knowledge, then be constructive and share. Barking will not bring you any respect.
Posting here has not been done lightly and not without researching first. I went to their website, checked the product, support and FAQ pages... And my email has so far (yes I did send an email) not been answered...
This 'feature' is not documented there nor is it in the help... The info as only recently surfaced in an obscure forum post...
A 'feature' that is not officially documented and that can only be managed through undocumented hidden preferences CANNOT be really called a feature... Since, if you don't know it is there it is of no use.
If it is to be called a feature, then they need to tell you it's there and allow you to disable it through the pref pane.
I maintain, that for any program, undocumented access to the net without informing the user, without having been requested to do so, on port it is not normally supposed to use IS indeed a suspect behavior.
And as far as my ignorance is concerned:
"The extent of a man's ignorance is not measured in what he doesn't know, but in what he refuses to learn."
I have admitted my ignorance on this specific "feature", you have proved you refuse to learn to respect other...
Regards.
P.S.: For the duplicate entry, it is due to a database crash at the movement of the submission. A problem that seems to happen quite often on VT recently.
