I'm guessing you meant the MAC-only company that sold out to microsoft, but the sentiment is the same...
Personally, i could never understand how having a CD in the drive is any kind of guarantee against piracy... Apart from "no-cd" hacks, you could always download a .iso or .dmg for pc or mac respectively, burn to CD and play.
The only thing it does is irritate end-users (legitimate as well as others) into not bothering with such fecking software...
