Copy sent to VT Admin - Tohrme

A msg to all...
It appears there are some dissatisfied customers with the latest version of Version Tracker.
AN IN-DEPTH REVIEW IS REQUIRED OF THIS PRODUCT.
With regard to the previous version of VT, I found only two faults I am aware of -
#1 On the odd occasion it tried to upgrade a Vista driver onto my XP system - VT's recognition of platforms MUST be improved.
#2 On contacting another site to download the appropriate driver upgrade, VT failed in this sometimes.

NOW let's talk WINDOWS UPDATES...Watch what these do. The latest security features would have prevented my machine from installing and or operating several programs had I not been an advanced user.

ALSO, THIRD PARTY PROGRAMS....If you are using email and internet security other than that provided by windows, you must configure it correctly.
My personal choice is Trend Micro's PC-Cillin, very secure but needs advanced knowledge to set it up correctly as it's generic function is to block ALL activity unless it is approved. You must also turn off 'WINDOWS' firewall otherwise there is conflict.

*** Several customers have reported severe problems with the latest version of VT including changing other programs access information, being only 66% reliable, absolute junk, downloading and installing trial versions of programs when already paid versions are installed.
Further, VT Staff not responding to emails sent by customers (bad customer support very quickly destroys any business), problems with 'PayPal' relating to the installation of VT.

All these problems MUST be fixed if VT is going to be a great product. 576,830 downloads for all versions should double and triple if the product truly is top quality.
Please do the correct thing by your business and thoroughly review and edit your programming where necessary.

I will download and install VT's latest version and give it a test run. I will keep you posted as to the results.

Cheers
