You can adjust the speaking rate (and voice) in System Preferences/Speech/Text to Speech. If you are using Leopard, Alex is an excellent voice but it is fun to try others as well.

Bingo Caller Version 2.1.0 provides two shortcuts. Tap the "a" key to hear the last called number.
