Solved my own problem. If you use Pith Helmet or any other SIMBL mod to Safari, be sure that everything is in the same directory i.e. you have a local library (user/library etc.) and a global library (HD/library etc.) if you put something like safaristand in the local library, nothing in the global library will run. Once I moved safaristand to the global library in the same folder as pith helmet, everything worked fine (at least on my initial test run).
