Is it worth it? - Curtis Jackson

I was able to run ClamXav (albeit with some false starts and weird problems). My problem is a non-working ClamXav Sentry.

It had forgotten about all of my ClamXav Sentry folders, so I added them back in Preferences. I finally got ClamXav Sentry to launch by quitting ClamXav and relaunching it. But the ClamXav Sentry icon is grayed out in the menu bar, and the scan log is complaining about all kinds of stuff, mostly "ERROR: Please edit the example config file /usr/local/clamXav/etc/clamd.conf".

I looked at the conf file, and it is indeed an example only -- none of my folders that I entered to be watched are in the file. So there appears to be some problem wherein ClamXav cannot edit the conf file.

I also donated. I'll try to edit the conf file, but right now my confidence in ClamXav is pretty low.
