Beta or Final Release? - fmarder

The link on the VT page is for the final release, not the Beta. If you go to the HP website you still get the Beta.

Beta or Final Release? - WoodDMW

I have a PhotoSmart C7280 all-in-one. I updated the software that came with the unit via:

HP_Installer_PSC7200_v9.7beta.dmg = name of OLD beta 9.7, 217.84 MB, dated 11/2007

HP_Installer_PS2600_v9.7.dmg = name of NEW download, about 190 MB.

I suspect today's new download is NOT a generic installer and suspect it simply supports the PhotoSmart 2600 series??

This download appears if you follow links, for example, for a Photosmart 2613 All-in-One.

Beta or Final Release? - superush

I have a Photosmart all in one 3180, running the beta version for Leopard without any problems since upgrating to that last October. However, thinking that todays 9.7 version release was non-beta, went for the download and after trying to install 2x, got the message that the installer is for Photosmart 7600 series, therefore does not support my printer. This posted release was misleading in my opinion.

Checked out HP's web site afterwards and see that only the beta version is still available for my printer.

Oh well... guess there's no need to rush for an upgraded version. At least the Leopard compatible version is still working well for me. itel iMac, OS X 10.5.1 Leopard.

Cheers,
superush

Beta or Final Release? - Mike Dustan

This is the main reason I switched to Epson, leaving my nice wide-carriage DeskJet 1220C to gather dust. :-(
