I agree with what you said in your reply. No company will suspend sales for 2 or 3 months. But what most companies do is: when a new version of their software comes out, they will usually allow a free upgrade to registered users who have purchased sometime up to 3 months prior the new release.
I wrote an Email to Softpress 3 days ago about this matter and received no answer to this day. Before I purchased FWpro 4.4.2 in December during the trial period I was getting all kind of answers in less than 24 hours.
