(From the developer). Sorry, but I just downloaded and installed USInternational (which I had seen before) to confirm this, and it's quite different. USInternational lets you use Windows key sequences to type international characters. This is great for people who come from the Windows world. But if you type Option-a, for example, you still get an a with a circle above it, which is not a German character. USGerman lets you use just the single key combination of Option-a to get ä (same with ö, ü, etc.). For fast typists (like most coders), deadkey sequences as used in USInternational also interrupt the typing flow. USGerman doesn't use deadkey sequences for the German characters, but direct Option+key combinations.
So in short, USInternational is great for people who already know or use Windows and who need to type all sorts of international accented characters from different languages. USGerman is more efficient if you're a Mac user typing German text on a US keyboard. Two tasks, two tools; you choose.
