Interesting comment. I've not been able to replicate you experience with previous versions of Escape Medical Viewer, and am unwilling to even try this again.
That's because i now run OsiriX 64 bit for cardiology, which is a minor expense compared the relatively high pricetag for this software, but allows me to do so much more than simply "view images side by side", eg do 3D reconstrutions of CT angiograms etc, as well as open massive files (eg IVUS with 8000+ frames).
I was wondering if you've ever tried OsiriX (as it does everything you prize Escape for), the 32 bit version is free and opensource, and it does so much more, and how you feels it compares to EMV euro for euro.
