I completely agree with both of you. I've used MenuCalendarClock for at least a year, very happily paid for it, but the new version (having just moved to Leopard) is SO INTRUSIVE! I loved the old version for getting the hell out of my Dock & App Switcher list, just doing its job so much better than iCal.Now I accidentally quit it all the time. Soon I'm not going to bother even having it as a startup item.
I really hope this gets changed.

One of the best things about this little ap has been zapped. I hate extra dock icons, especially for "helper" aps or utilities. The menu bar icon is all that is needed, why do this? Improved functionality to come? I doubt I want it if it means I've got to have an extra dock icon, which I probably won't use. I will stick with my current install, and man am I glad I read the "what's new" because I usually let it update itself. Please, make this optional. Otherwise, you're taking your awesome ap backwards.

Yeah. But intil the developer reverts this, try Dockless http://www.versiontracker.com/dyn/moreinfo/macosx/18195Saturday, December 29 2007 @ 01:16 AM PST

This is very easy to fix.Go to the MenuCalendarClock in Finder, and <Ctrl>-Click, then select "Show Package Contents"
Go into the "Contents" folder and then select "Info.plist" - open it with "Property List Editor".
Then change the Value for "NSUIElement" to 1. Save and close, restart MenuCalendarClock - and you're done.
Of course, having this as a preference in the app itself would be preferable - but in the meantime this is what I did.

Unresponsive Developers... - Mr.Mojo
I doubt that they read the comments here and I know for certain that they do not respond to e-mail, having tried to contact them twice... I really don't get it.In ten years this is the only shareware that I use and will not register... until the developers show some interest in their customers.

Well, I hope they do...!? Because one of the main advantages of MCC was that it wasn't intrusive, it just sat there in you menu bar until you needed it...and now it is in the Dock, in the Application Changer and just in your face -- with no extra use whatsoever and no way to reduce it back to a simple but useful and effective menu item tool...Reply to This
