Beta?? - mematron
Don't be such a n00b. Onyx, like many applications is just a GUI wrapper for any number of commands that anyone can type in and run in the terminal some comands are over 30 years old. Onyx's interface is in beta. What it actually is... trivial. How it does it... not new. What it looks like is where the creative programming comes in.Think of OSX, despite how slick Apple has made it, it's core, is BSD Unix and the NEXT OS. Aqua is just a pretty GUI so most people don't have to be like the average Linux user... Smart.
Not to knock OSX users because I am one, obviously, but from what I've observed the average Mac User does not like to tinker with their OS.
So, if it scares you make your own app that suits your needs. Really, it's not that hard. Look up a cool little app called Platypus. It can make Mac OS X apps from scripts. I do it all the time.
My point is, be educated in why something sucks. Read all my posts. I am sarcastic, YES, but I actually do explain why apps suck.

If you have to ask why... - MacOO7
...then you really shouldn't be using it. Beta software is just what it says it is, BETA. That means only the brave and those willing to take risks should be using this. All others need not apply and should stick with what they know is safe.Monday, December 24 2007 @ 11:57 AM PST
