Well, dumbing down or not, if you looked at the previous post by mcleod_68, you would see that his iPhone is unlocked. Which may or may not have caused the strange problems that he has encountered here.
Meanwhile, as a user who has from time to time been slow to understand any particular software, I should think that the 'problem' is neither the developer's nor mine alone. But surely a combative attitude would be less conducive to solving problems to the satisfaction of all concerned.
