If upgrade is an option, and it is problematic, then there are problems with 10.5, ipso facto.

The problems we are talking about are verified bugs in the initial release of Leopard. And they even didn't fix some of the serious bugs in the x.5.1 upgrade. I don't know how the beta-testers could slip those errors through... errors that took most of the retail users 5 minutes to discover.
(example: the smb filesharing, you have to connect with the ip to see the files...)

You lose. I did an erase and install. 10.5.0 only gave me one small problem with iWeb. However, when I upgraded to 10.5.1 I spent a bunch of time trying to keep my cable modem running. After I got that fixed, my broadband connection started running like dial up. After playing with DNS numbers for a couple of days, I gave up and reinstalled Tiger this weekend.
