I'm sorry to hear that you're having trouble. I don't have a G5 to test on, unfortunately, but I will do my best to help. The program has been tested on PPC hardware, and is a universal binary.
Have you run previous versions of SpendThrift? It's possible (but as unlikely as I could make it) that preference files from previous versions might cause this.
If that's not it, try running Console (under Applications > Utilities), and let me know what it outputs when attempting to start.
