That is certainly a very interesting suggestion and one that seems worthwhile implementing.

Let me first point out that there are alternatives to having a black background:

1) the desktop mode has none,
2) you can change the colour and opacity of the background, and
3) you can resize the window to your own liking.


Let me also say that I am unsure if it is fair for you to rate the product based on it not having a feature without first contacting the developer to suggest, request or discuss it.
