You might have read that Penelope was a plugin for TBird, but Eudora is a standalone app.

Virtually identical to TBird, containing absolutely none of the old Eudora functionality and flexibility.

Could Someone Clear This Up? - Stimpson

Thunderbird and Eudora use the same mailfolders (Library > Thunderbird) so you can easely switch from one to another.
