the Jpeg (jpg) picture format is already a compressed data format.
(which is why it is used in so many digital cameras, except for high end which save huge 'raw' or tiff files)

And, though not explicitly stated, almost all data compression programs, when told to compress an already compressed file, will either leave it same size, or make it bigger. This is just due to the rather complex data examination and compression formulas. Not a fault of 7zx, others will often do same.

though there is one case of benefit to compressing digital photos - when you want to create a single archive file which contains one or more folders of many pictures. In this operation, you would compress the folder and then you have ony one result file (compressed, or at least, combined) to deal with. Often easier to send an email with a single such file.
