Update what? - GNJ

Just curious --- what version do you have that you are trying to update? Was it *installed*, or copied to your applications folder? Have you messed with any of the resources (as in stripping out some languages)?

You need to have version 4.5.1 or 4.5.2 to update. Install it again, before you try to update ---- there are other items the installer puts into your system (like layered folders for assorted plists)

Updater won't update! - barryaus

I had exactly the same problem. Twice I tried to update my 4.1.2. Each time it told me that it could not find something, which was not in the proper place. I know I never moved the App from the Applications folder, and I don't know enough to move any of the other items that the installer puts in various places. Each time it told me that I had to dismiss the message, and then it proceeded and told me it had been successfully installed, believe it or not, but each time I still have 4.1.2. I read elsewhere that the update from 4.1.2 is one I have to pay for, but why can't the installer be programmed to tell that, rather than going through all these hoops for naught? (Of course I read that AFTER trying to do the update twice.)
