Why PTGui? - awaMan

How does PTGui compare to PTMac, other than costing more (even more now with the wimpy USD) and offering full fisheye support (PTMac is officially limited to 160 degees' field-of-view, although there is unofficial support for full fisheye shots)?

Though a novice, I use a fisheye and 16-bit images in PTMac and get (I think) good output, although PTMac's workflow is not wholly 16-bit-friendly. PTMac upgrades have been steady, usually (always? I can't recall) free, and support is usually excellent. Together with CubicConnector and CubicConverter as well, I can do almost anything I want with QTVR interactive panoramas.

I'm not attacking PTGui, just looking for others' opinions and advice.
