Alters System Fonts? - shaunmcdonald131
OpenOffice.org X11, does not modify the system fonts. It does a conversion, where the original fonts are _only_ read, the original fonts are not modified.Monday, July 02 2007 @ 11:59 AM PDT
You got it wrong - Ilgaz
It does not alter system fonts. Being X11 based Application (non “Aqua”) it needs to alter X11 configuration to use your OS X fonts in documents. For example, Helvetica is OS X truetype/opentype font. If you select “yes” on that dialogue, the path containing Helvetica added to your X11 search path along with its “metrics” (check Fondu on web). Nobody can alter your OS X fonts except you via Font Book.Monday, October 01 2007 @ 07:20 AM PDT
PS NeoOffice Patch 7 - Lickableunix
NeoOffice-2.1-Patch-7-PowerPC.dmgis out and humming along sweetly on my little iBook 1.33GHz G4 with 1.5 GB RAM and new 5400rpm internal hard drive. To be more precise, i am under the impression that my keyboard functionality would be reduced only while running OpenOffice, if i were to not permit it to modify my system fonts during installation.
best regards, and can anyone out there explain this any better?
