You must have gotten a bad one. I've had several, and they've been top notch (though I won't buy any more with the soft rubber buttons as they do wear more over time).

I have had mine since last November. I run a 50" Sony LCD, BOSE Home Theatre and Dish High Def, dual tuner DVR among other things (lights and even my coffee maker). This goes all over the house and never a bit of trouble with it. And, it has been dropped on a hardwood floor two times minimum.

Software running on an iMac 20" 2GHz Core Duo Intel machine, and again, absolutely no problems.
