unfortunately the mentioned app is not as verbose in its output. I think this app is better for pre-fail-diagnostics.

The underlying command-line-util shows exact states of the devices, much more than status "good" or "bad"

Yes, unlike Disk Utility and SMARTReporter, my application looks at the individual attributes and determines a failing status. I've noticed that by the time SMART says failed, its too late to save much data.

Thank you for bringing this up. It does raise a good point.
