I have been using Intego Personal Backup for some years now. I find it to be an outstanding product. It has never failed to do what I ask. I use it mostly for backing up my entire HD to an external HD. This in itself has saved me many hours of having to put everything back on my HD when I have had a failure of some sort. The product is not free as is CCC and some other good products but it has been worth the $$ to me. I also use Intego Virus Barrier and Net Barrier. All their products can be checked for the latest version by a simple click of their Net Update.
