Synergy is just about perfect for controlling iTunes - either from the menu bar or with keyboard commands (which are my personal preference).

It is inexpensive and has been updated regularly for as long as I've been using it (April 24, 2003).

- Automatically keep your last.fm profile up-to-date with the music you listen to.
- Visual info on what track you're listening to.
- Amazing value-for-$$ over the years!
