I installed GD on an Intel MacBook and had the exact same problem, although without the severe disk corruption. Several times my Mac would suddenly start to exibit odd behavior, couldn't empty trash, certain apps (like Activity Monitor) would crash on launch, couldn't open System Preferences, etc. The only way to break out of it was to restart, but it was only a matter of time before the symptoms would return. Also, after 5 days, GD was STILL indexing my drive.
I can't recommend this software at all, even though it looked promising. It definitely needs to be tested more thoroughly before being released. Treat this as a 'beta' package!
