DO, It's the USUAL GREAT update from Apple!!! - deejemon

I have honestly never ever ever seen any issues with iTunes that were not created by the user, and I look after a couple of hundred Mac workstations.

The only cases I've ever seen have been people shifting their iTunes library around, winding up with a new empty one, over time finding themselves with multiple libraries and eventually needing to consolidate them back together.

I think those who are having issues need to diagnose whether it is truly iTunes, or it's their library (or even, some other technical issue, eg: moving the application around, or refusing to install the recommended version of QuickTime, or doing an unrecommended install such as via Pacifist, which skips certain scripts). Particularly when someone takes it upon themselves to "downgrade", which smells of being hacked together (are you even sure you removed all the old pieces, or do you now have a mishmash of components?).

Basically for testing purposes only, you should move your iTunes Library somewhere else and let it create a new one. Import some test songs, play around with it, see if it's okay. If it is, it's your library, not iTunes. And of course, move it all back and overwrite the test library when you're done. (Or even better, create another user entirely, and delete it again when you're done testing.) And of course if you're having an issue, you should check Apple's support pages, technotes and discussions, and I should be able to assume that you have already tried the system maintenance tasks.

To me, iTunes just keeps getting better, and like the iPod, it puts a halo around the company. Sure, there's a couple of things I'd like added or changed, but that's just features. I installed this one, all smooth, all great.

I find it interesting when people write these reviews that state a piece of software is garbage and they are only person having problems.

Installed OK for me on 3 macs, no problems.
