Subscription rate - dean shavit

The subscription gives you access to the Mac HelpMate server, which is necessary to be able to act as a go-between to allow the zero-configuration screen sharing. Netopia eCare is $3200 a year for basically the same service, and Timbuktu locator carries a fee, as does Timbuktu over Skype (which is notoriously slow). Timbuktu requires a charge of $80 per MAC whereas Mac HelpMate is licensed for one-to-many use, which is why it's a perfect tool for consultants or in-house support pros. Running the server that enables the service is not free, nor is the technical support we provide. Our subscribers think it's a tremendous value to support their customers.

So, there's a little bit more to the subscription fee than you might have guessed...however Mac HelpMate is currently NOT for single computer or single user use and is not priced that way.

Also, our pricing is going up as of May 1 2007 as well, so the $600 subscription price is likely to change, but still won't be anywhere as expensive as eCare.
