Yep. You are more than right - Mellel is not for the technical community - I wrote it a few times. I use LaTeX with Texshop to write articles (the only real option for technical writing) and migrated to a more flexible application for shorter and less professional documents that include Graphics and MathType.

Hi, It's Ori from RedleX: I think you'll find that 2 is already implemented in Mellel (automatic adjustment of baseline shift when you paste images from MathMagic). I think you'll see 1 and 3 done soon too...

Maybe... but see Ori's response.

As for academic writers who do highly structured articles, books, etc., Mellel is a dream. I would not consider using ANY other word processor, nothing comes close.
