Good for you. The HP scanner manager that came with mine is total crap. Thank heavens for VueScan.

I have a higher ended Canon scanner whose software clearly doesn't have the features that Vuescan has. You have to dig a little deeper...

Dig a little deeper. The Canon scan software has much less capability than VueScan. I have used low-end and high-end Canon scanners (btw, Canons are my favorite) and have had good reason to use VueScan. Many that I know think that Canon should license and bundle VueScan to use on their superior scanners and not mess with their in-house....well unless someone's nephew would be out of work...
