OK, so I decided to test this out and used PowerBall as the guinea pig for this project. Based upon the previous numbers (and no tinkering with preferences whatsoever), I had the Lotto Sorcerer create 25 discrete combinations:

03-06-08-15-32 BB:01
09-12-18-29-36 BB:06
03-08-09-15-49 BB:10
05-13-16-17-44 BB:12
06-07-26-29-40 BB:37
16-21-31-39-41 BB:09
04-06-08-22-49 BB:12
12-18-19-26-40 BB:35
04-14-21-27-42 BB:29
02-03-09-37-55 BB:26
02-12-14-20-44 BB:29
05-09-26-30-45 BB:09
19-23-35-45-49 BB:31
05-13-17-31-51 BB:09
23-26-36-41-51 BB:10
01-10-11-37-55 BB:13
36-37-40-42-49 BB:35
02-03-27-39-49 BB:35
06-28-29-30-37 BB:09
19-33-36-41-55 BB:12
10-24-35-45-50 BB:33
05-26-36-41-51 BB:37
01-04-20-40-53 BB:01
01-13-36-40-50 BB:10

The winning PowerBall numbers were:

36-38-42-54-55 BB:24

Needless to say, if I would have played the Lotto Sorcerer's ideas, I would have been taken to the cleaners, as only one regular ball would have been matched. While it did succeeed in matching one number on several tickets, I have had the same luck with machine pick PowerBall entries.

Chances are that it wont. There is an equal chance of any number being picked out, whether it was picked out the week before or not. It's random!!

You can't improve your chances of winning except by buying more tikets, but you could increase your chances of not sharing a jackpot by picking 6 consecutive numbers in the UK lottery. Make sure that they are not 1 - 6 though as a fair few people try that already.

If it was that good the author would be winning the jackpot every week. Is he?
