Why we do this? Because a lot of users love it already in its current form, despite the fact that their are obvious flaws we really work hard on. Also, it's a total misconception that we try to make an endnote replacement here.
I could go on for a few minutes, but as the above person already says: "No one is forcing you to use it in its current form". It's a new program, in the works, that fills a gap no other program is currently filling. We have to start somewhere.
Finally, if you are happy with iPapers, that's perfect but a lot of its users are not really happy with the fact that its development completely stalled.
