Needs a lot of Work - Klaus Schmidt

Thank you for your comment. It would help if you could tell me what exactly does not work. I have been using it now for weeks and it seems to do all it is supposed to do. Which OS and computer are you using?
The app is a bit different from the OS9 launcher. I did not claim it was the same.
As for documentation, you can get all necessary information by clicking the menu Help-Instructions.

Sincerely

BTW there is an error in the listing. It should be "LauncherX", not MauncherX.

I am also happy to see the release of this app, but I'm also having problems with it. After I filled up 1 category and deleted some buttons, the app failed to launch with a NilObjectException alert. Of course I immediately suspected that a fresh preference file was needed, but because the preference file (launchdata.plist) doesn't include the app's name (LauncherX), I had to search for it by another method. Because I had installed it so recently, the pref file was easy to find by mod date, so the problem was solved.

Anyway, please include a document with the download that includes instructions about removing the preference file as well as basic functions, such as option-click to get the dialog for removing an item.

BTW, I was able to find the reason for the launch exception and was able to edit the troublesome plist file so that I could use it again, thereby avoiding the necessity of configuring LauncherX from scratch. The problem was that I had added launcher items for removable storage devices, and when LauncherX was opened without these devices available, the exception occurred. Removing the items from the plist file with Property List Editor was sufficient to remedy the problem.
