Hi Marnen.
When you just installed LilyPond for the first time and you compile your first score sheet, then LilyPond builds up his font cache first, and this can take up to 10 minutes (depends on the speed of your Mac).
Thats no problem, because LilyPond rebuilds his font cache again only after you installed a new major release (or after deleting the font cache file by hand ;-).
