What nonsense. I tried to use the browser and gave up, because with a 1024x768 screen, I didn't want the tab bar on because I don't use tabs and don't want to waste the screen space. It does seem inexplicable that such a big issue remains in Opera 9, but unless it's been fixed in 9.1, which I seriously doubt (and will test today), it's a show-stopper for me.
Your silly assumptions about me are completely false.

It's not obvious, but if you press command-w you will close the current tab (even if the tab bar is hidden) and return to the Web page. Also, there is a preference to open windows instead of tabs that opens the download manager in a new window.

I am 99.99% sure that by now if such a bug existed there would be an updated version; I have put this browser through every test and security, and it has not failed me once. You perhaps have a personal dislike as most posters do for software that is downloaadable. If you have proof, kindly EMail Opera with a copy of your "bug report" Let THEM decide if such a "bug" exists; if it does let THEM the opera staff write an updated version; it only requires proof from you to Opera.Reply to This
