No, I don't think so . . . this 'curse' is largely the result of indolent and irresponsible ISPs, who are the only link in the chain able effectively to stop the abuse. If they would pay more attention to the activities of their customers, instead of simply 'taking the money and running,' the problem could be reduced substantially or eliminated relatively quickly, to the ultimate benefit and profit of all. Apps like Sp@mX currently form the only viable resort of victims and until ISPs assume that responsibility, their irritated complaints are likely to fall upon deaf ears.

While I understand your concerns, since I posted the feedback on version tracker the amount of spam has increased drastically. (My Spam count was 7000 spam emails in the 18 months up to June 2006, since then it has increased to 13,000 in October 2006).

However i do receive a small amount of emails in response to SpamX reports, so at least a few Zombies are being taken down.

in the year I've used Sp@mX my inflow of spam has slowed from 50 - 60 per day to 3 - 5 per week. What you say may be perfectly true, but so is my experience.
