excessive developer comments? - Agile Web Solutions
Thanks for the feedback guys. I certainly didn't want to annoy people with my feedback. My goal was to show that our team is very active and to show that we are open to suggestions for improvement.
As for this being uncommon, thanks! It is *common* to see many products that look good but where the developer is no where to be found. I'm proud to take the *uncommon* approach of being active in the community. What would be a better way to show this than to actively post?
As for the idea that I'm trying to push negative feedback off the page, all one needs to do is look at my track record and they'll quickly see that this is not true. I love feedback, both positive and negative, and I have been actively posting on this forum since the beginning. If you go over to MacUpdate, you'll see that my comments were partially responsible for pushing these comments off the first page:
> Computernaut said: "I like this program! Considering to buy it."
> condrovic said: "Great software, with every new release there seems to be many added features."
I valued these comments greatly, but I valued being active on the "forums" just as much. Now, I will admit that recently we have had too many releases, and for that I apologize. There was a really critical bug that was released in the Safari version on VT. You see, VT has this nice feature where it will *automatically* grab the most recent release. We had a bug but before we could fix it there were already many downloads. We felt we needed to alert everyone.
We'll try not to post such small release notes as the previous two. We will do this by making sure the prerelease testing is more robust so we don't need to have such "emergency" updates. However, I still want to post and in-fact that's why I'm here, I have a new movie I want to share with everyone. Stay tuned!
Cheers!

Thanks for your courteous reply. Your responses to comments are appreciated. I particularly appreciated the uninstall instructions I found in response to a user's comment.I do feel that notes about updates should not generally be in the comments section, except as responses to user comments.

I noticed the same thing and completely agree. I couldn't help but wonder if the developer intended to push unfavorable comments off the page.Reply to This
