If it were a book or a magazine, etc, I could read the cover and learn what it was about before I got it, right?

DTV/Democracy Player bills itself as a video player. It fails to mention it's political contents on it's "cover." Instead, it sneakily & specifically avoids this. Then, an unsuspecting user downloads this Mac program to play videos... and they get a sack full of political propaganda.

There's a time and a place for free speech. 'Participatory Culture Foundation' can fill their program full of all the propaganda they want to. And they can try and hide it until unsuspecting people (who think they are downloading a video player) find it full of propaganda. But they probably ought to at least mention this on the "cover" of the product (i.e. their website, VT, etc).

And on the flipside, free speech means I have the right to call them on it on VersionTracker. People who aren't interested in propaganda should be aware what comes in this package so they can make an informed decision.
