Problems abound... - BJF

I had some problems with this version when I first installed it, but I downloaded the latest Java update for Tiger, did the DiskWarrior thing, repaired permissions, etc., and now everything is working perfectly. I haven't tried a torrent yet, but gnutella is fine. The partial downloads that got fried before continue where they left off once I search for and attempt to re-download them.

I tend to also skip several updates at a time because of the occasional problems that occur, but I am getting the best performance I've seen since about a year ago. One factor that might explain it is that I moved from 10.3.9 to 10.4.7 by doing an archive & install. Must've been some Panther crud holding me back?

Good luck!

After updating to this version, I just get the red Connecting message and no connections. Further, it clobbers my internet access entirely. I have to reset my router to have web and email connectivity. I've turned uPnP on and off and fussed with a couple other router settings, but no joy. The app sees a router problem (notes this in the Prefs pages, with link to their web site for setting up the TCP/UDP ports, which are unchanged from before). I did update to 10.4.7 a few days ago, but the previous version was working OK . . . except that it refused to shut down entirely when I tried to quit it in order to upgrade. It wouldn't complete writing my list of incomplete downloads (but didn't hang to the point that force-quit showed it being unresponsive).

The update to 131.3 still didn't fix things. The Developer contacted me (thanks D.W.) and suggested trashing Application Support/Acquisition. Now it works like a champ.

Need to revise my review accordingly.
