Try uninstalling the Powermate plist file and the prefpane.

Basically do a spotlight search.

Drag the Powermate plist file to the trash, then drag the PowerMate pref pane to the trash.

Next restart, so you can empty the trash since the pref pane will be in use when you initially drag it there.

In my experience most of the problems I saw with this Beta were because I never uninstalled my old software.

Also, the user guide that comes with the release notes, is pretty helpful, and there is a email address there for bug reporting. I Actually got a reply!
